How to transfer a call with Microsoft Teams

    February 11th, 2021

    Consult then transfer (warm transfer)

    Step 1

While on a call click the ellipsis at the top right. Then choose Consult then transfer.

    Step 2

Search for the staff member you would like to consult with. Highlight their name then you can choose to chat with them or call them.

    Step 3

You have 2 choices to consult with the staff member before you transfer.

You can call them by clicking on the drop down arrow next to the Chat button then choose Teams audio call. This will put the caller on hold and it will dial the staff member you would like to consult before you transfer.

Once you have spoken with the staff member hit the Transfer button.

Or you can also chat with the staff member before you hit the Transfer button.

    Transfer without consulting (cold transfer)

    Step 1

While on a call click the ellipsis at the top right. Then choose Transfer.

    Step 2

Search for the staff member you would like to consult with. Highlight their name then press Transfer.

You can also send the call straight to the staff members voicemail. By clicking the arrow next to Transfer and choose Work voicemail.

Also if you do transfer the call and the staff member does not answer you can have the call come back to you by enabling the Ring back if there's no answer option seen below
