    Term Permissions

    Students should not have visibility of future term courses until 7 days before the start of the term. This allows instructors and the course configuration team time to change out dates and content. Previous and current term should allow students to see hidden courses.

    Hide Future Term Courses

    Step 1

    Go to Site administration > Courses > Manage Course Categories

    Step 2

    Find the future term category (should be at the bottom of the category list)

    Click the gear icon dropdown and click Permissions

    Step 3

    Go to View hidden courses (i.e., course: viewhiddencourses)

    Find Student and click the trash can icon

    Step 4

    Confirm removal of the permission

    Step 5

    Hide and unhide courses


    Unhide Previous Term Courses

    Step 1

    Go to Site administration > Courses > Manage Course Categories

    Step 2

    Find the future term category (should be at the bottom of the category list)

    Click the gear icon dropdown and click Permissions

    Step 3

    Go to View hidden courses (i.e., course: viewhiddencourses)

    Click the + icon and add Student

    Step 4

    Verify Student is in the Roles with permission column.

    Step 5

    Hide and unhide course (if it wasn't completed previously)
