Blackboard's Messages feature serves as a vital communication tool within the learning environment, facilitating seamless and efficient interaction between instructors and students. With Messages, users can engage in private one-on-one conversations or group discussions, providing avenues for personalized support. Whether it's seeking clarification on course content, sharing resources, or receiving feedback on assignments, Messages offer a convenient and accessible platform for continuous communication. On top of that, the tool supports multimedia attachments, enabling users to exchange files, links, and multimedia content to enrich their conversations.
To create a new Message, click on the Messages tab in your Navigation Menu:

Select New Message next to the course name:

From the Recipients box, you'll have the option to message all course members, all instructors, all students, a course group, and one or multiple students.
From the Message box, you'll be able to type your message, edit its content, and include attachments using the toolbar available. Once your message is ready, click on send.

Note: You can review all the messages sent and received within a course from the Messages tab.
